Discover Our Old Town Key West Hotel
In 1995, The Reach Resort, built in 1985 and fronting the Atlantic just west of Casa Marina, was acquired by Mr. Meisel and Mr. Cohen and became Casa’s “sister resort.” For years, The Reach was a relaxing haven for couples to enjoy all that Key West had to offer. Located just minutes from the heart of Old Town Key West, the hotel has been the ideal gateway to experience Caribbean allure of the area.
The Reach enjoyed more than its 15 minutes of allotted fame when MTV’s “Summer in the Keys, 2001” was broadcast from its beachfront. The show introduced Key West and The Reach to a younger demographic. During the months of July and August, host Carson Daly welcomed such diverse celebrities as hip hop artist Tyrese, actress/singer Mandy Moore, English R&B singer Craig David, leggy Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Molly Sims and pop singer Bryan McFadden. As a concession to more mature viewers, veteran psychologist and advice columnist Dr. Joyce Brothers also made an appearance. Youthful audiences arrived from Miami “by the busloads” to attend the shows.
With a $32 million renovation in 2008, The Reach, A Waldorf Astoria Resort dazzles guests with its stunning transformation. This brilliant tropical playground has been redesigned from top to toe, creating a sassy, sexy atmosphere along Key West’s only natural beach.
